| Description | (8 vols, folio, first editions.) The first seven volumes were published in Leipzig by W. Drugulin. Volume 8 was published in Athens by P. D. Sakellarios. Esperos, a Greek literary and cultural journal edited by Ioannis Pervanoglous, was addressed to Greek communities in Europe, Greece and the Levant, disseminating news from Greece and other Greek regions. The journal was modelled on the illustrated periodicals of the period, for example The Illustrated London News, The Graphic, L’Illustration, etc. Many articles and illustrations concerning Cyprus on various subjects are to be found throughout the eight volumes. |
